RE11 MECHANICAL ROTARY ENCODER SWITCH (INCREMENTAL TYPE)

The mechanical rotary encoder, RE11, is a low cost alternative solution to optical-type encoder where extended operating life and a processing seal are not critical. Model RE11 is available with an optional momentary push switch and offer compact design. The encoder features a typical operating life of 10,000 cycles with a choice of 15 or 20 indexing pulses per rotation and integral pushbutton switching action. The device is a precision contacting-type encoder in compact package, 11.7x13.8mm. It comes in a choice of vertical or horizontal PCB mounting versions with a variety of shafts, bushings and base colors available as options. Constructed with metal shaft and metal bushing, the encoder is ideal for applications where high reliability and a rugged design are required. The RE11 mechanical rotary encoder offers the same basic footprint of most encoders on the market today to replace failing, inexpensive encoders in most quality-sensitive applications. The encoders operate at up to 5V switching voltage and 1 to 10mA switching current. It has 100 milliohm maximum contact resistance. The versatile encoder can be used in many industries. Typical applications include instrumentation, consumer audio, navigation systems, domestic electronic appliances and test equipment.
